Transnet is looking to employ Trainee Train Assistants in Kwa-Zulu Natal with a grade 12 certificate. Transnet is a South African state-owned holding company that owns and manages South Africa’s railway infrastructure and rolling stock.
Transnet has recently been awarded various international contracts for the provision of locomotives, wagons and track equipment from local suppliers. These will be used on both domestic rail operations as well as internationally. The company has also been tasked with modernizing its fleet through replacement of old locomotives with newer models.
The South African government has set aside R84 billion for investment in transport infrastructure over the next five years..
