What it is: A 12‑month work experience initiative aimed at unemployed South Africans aged 18–29 with matric. It’s not a learnership or internship, but full-time work experience with a monthly stipend .
Eligibility Requirements:
South African citizens (African, Coloured or Indian, per BBBEE definitions)
Aged between 18 and 29
Holding a matric qualification
Currently unemployed and not enrolled in any studies
Has not previously participated in a YES programme .

Where You’ll Work: Roles are based across Nedbank branches, offices, or remotely/hybrid—depending on the division .
Support Included: Participants receive a stipend, and are exposed to on-the-job training, mentorship, and workplace readiness development .
Impact & Outcomes: Since 2019, Nedbank has supported over 13,500 youth, injecting R460 million into the economy and achieving a 36% absorption rate, with more than 250 participants from the 2022 intake being absorbed into permanent roles .
